This role

As a Sales Development Representative for PayProp, you’ll be leading the charge as we revolutionize payments for Canadian property rental businesses. We need you to be a hunter and a farmer. You’ll need to nurture highly qualified leads and build your contacts in the industry through cold-calling while evangelizing the power of PayProp’s automated rental payment platform. Through training and hands-on experience, you will become a subject matter expert – able to explain the commercial benefits and return on investment that come with PayProp. Your role will be in developing new business opportunities with a laser focus on pipeline management and increasing your sales close rate.

What we need from you

  • Generate and manage business leads.
  • Drive the due diligence, formal quotation, and negotiation processes for leads in partnership with other teams.
  • Constantly review what the market needs while working closely with the senior team to develop these requirements.
  • Enhance the industry’s payment knowledge through presentations.
  • Close sales by signing Service Agreements (MSA) with clients.
  • Manage the sales process through virtual demonstrations, while covering all admin and follow-up tasks.
  • Answer requests for demonstrations, proposals, information and quotes (RFPs/RFIs/RFQs).
  • Stay up to date with regulatory and compliance issues that may impact PayProp and its prospective clients.
  • Maintain knowledge of PayProp’s services & limitations to generate leads and drive sales.
  • Represent PayProp at virtual industry and customer events to produce sales leads.
  • Establish yourself as an expert within the company and the field by developing a broad body of knowledge about the PayProp platform and the industry.
  • Take responsibility for updating and tracking of RFPs throughout the sales process by using our CRM system (Insightly).


Your qualities

  • Competitive, persistent, and fearless with a passion and drive to meet and exceed sales quotas.
  • 5+ years of professional sales experience in solution-based technical products with a sound business acumen.
  • Outstanding customer service and a master of relationship and solution selling.
  • Ability to quickly learn products, process and purchasing drivers to effectively find and close opportunities.
  • High level of accountability and ownership of goals and performance targets.
  • Self-motivation and experience of working in a distributed working environment.
  • Well-honed interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of the real estate market would be an advantage.
  • Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft applications and CRM programs, as well as other electronic selling tools.
  • Successful individuals will be analytical, self-motivated, disciplined, organized, and have a written plan.
